Black Friday Fun

We decided to skip the Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving, and get a tree. We drove to Dixon to a Christmas tree farm and picked out the tree we thought was perfect. Sam got to saw it down. It was so fun! They had santa sleigh rides, apple cider, popcorn, and a cute little boutique. Sadie was in heaven! Then we went home, turned on christmas music, and decorated our cute tree.

Thanksgiving

It was so fun getting to cook half of our Thanksgiving dinner. Sadie was very helpful with rolling out the dough and staying by my side as i slaved over the stove for hours :) We sang and danced to Christmas music while Sam went and played football with the boys in our ward.
Even though we were sad to be without family for Thanksgiving, we had such a great time with our friends, The Linn's, getting dinner ready, eating, playing games, and just enjoying each others company.
I am so thankful for Sam! I wasn't complete without him in my life. He is so fun to be around. I am thankful that we are sealed, and that he is mine forever! Oh how I love him! Our Sadie never fails to make my day better. She cracks us up when she is amazed by something, (like in the above picture) and slaps her hand over her mouth. And we love that she has an obsession with smelling things. ALL things. I am so thankful for her. She makes me want to be such a better person and mother. I am so thankful that we are blessed to have another little girl on the way! I cannot wait to get to know her, hold her, and have her as one of my best little friends.

Deployment

We have come to find out that nothing is for sure in the military. After we were so relieved to have Sam here, and not deployed, we were informed that he is leaving in the beginning of January. So we are trying to look on the bright side of things. And we are crossing our fingers that our sweet little baby girl will be born before he leaves. I just might die if she comes past her due date, and i have to have her without Sam! When he leaves we will be moving back to Utah to be with our fun, supportive family.

Our Fairy Princess

There were too many fun things to do this Halloween now that Sadie is old enough to enjoy it. This year she was a fairy princess, (and the cutest one ever at that!). First we went to a cute little pumpkin patch with Katie, Braden, Preston, and Rachel Brett and Marie. The kids Loved picking out their own little pumpkins. Rachel had a dress up play group that was a blast. Downtown Vacaville had trick or treating at all of the shops. Sadie learned that Halloween is so fun because all she had to do was smile, say hi, stick out her pumpkin bucket and then she got candy. Halloween morning we watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and carved our pumpkin. It was the first time Sam and i had done it in years and we loved it. Then Halloween night we spent with The Linns. We ate dinner and had fun taking the little ones out trick or treating for more candy. Oh how i love the holidays!

Hello!

My goodness! I'm sorry I have not updated our blog for so long! But i am going to try to update it at least every month. Our Sadie is so big now, and too cute for words. Oh how we love her! She brings so much joy into our lives. She is 18 months, and will hopefully start nursery next Sunday. Woo hoo! The kids in my primary class are sad about that, but i can't wait.
Sadie's vocabulary has started up since we have banned her pacifier from her during the daytime. She can say mom, dad, dog, kitty, hi, bye, eye, outside, and she said sadie the other day. She is so sweet to her sick pregnant mommy. Yesterday i laid my head on her lap, and she fed me her drink then we watched her show together while she stroked my hair and kissed me every 30 seconds to make me feel better. :) She is going to be the BEST older sister, and she is the best daughter ever.

Speaking of... here is a picture of my pregnant belly. Almost 7 months. Just about there!
Sadie loves her daddy! He is the fun one. She gets so excited when he gets home from work. The other day we went to this awesome place called jungle tots. We had a blast! She only wanted her daddy though. She cried everytime i tried to hold her or play with her. Ha ha Sam loved it.

We have been mourning these past few weeks because Sam was told he would have to be deployed about two weeks after our little girl is born! He wouldn't be back until next june. Well we just found out some AMAZING news... He gets to stay!!! And what a blessing that is. I don't know how i would have made it through six months without my sweetheart.
Sam had his 23 birthday conference weekend! It was a blast! His parents and scott and brad all stayed at our house and we had so much fun. Sadie, of course loved it! we celebrated his birthday at hisu. A sushi/ steakhouse. It was fun.

Grandpa Lopez, aka Indian Red Lopez died that same weekend. We were sad, but so happy he is in a wonderful place now. He had a wonderful funeral. It was truely a celebration of his life. He has a great story written about him in london times www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/columists/owen_slot/article6872714.ece and his obituary in the LA times http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-ernie-lopez5-2009oct05,0,1965142.story He sure had a tough life, but he was a great fighter and had such a fun sense of humor. It is crazy how much he and my dad look alike! We love you grandpa lopez.

Nothing Short of Forever

It has been so long since i have had the time to update our blog. So much has happened with our little Sadie Patricia. She has two small, but adorable bottom teeth. She is crawling around everywhere and takes steps when she thinks we aren't looking. She had her first sneaking into the bathroom to play in the toilet experience, (which sure was a blast for mommy) and she is managing to do all of this while keeping her plump little figure. haha. She is so wonderful.
The most exciting thing that has happened in the nelson family these past few months was on febuary 7th. Sam, Sadie and i finally had the opportunity to be sealed in the Salt Lake temple. What a trying first year of marriage without it, but what a beautiful and comforting thing it is that we are now sealed for time and all eternity. It was so special to have our closest family members and friends there with us. We love you! And here are some of the pictures you have been asking about...
